Lucy Sparrow’s Felt World Takeover

Felt and Acrylic Love Story.

Me and the super talented Lucy Sparrow were first introduced back in 2016 when we had the pleasure of fabricating a number of acrylic displays for her solo exhibition ‘Shoplifting’ held at the Lawrence Alkin Gallery, now known as Rhodes Contemporary Art.

Since then the felt wonder women has literally been felting the world and often shows off her creations in our acrylic displays, as they provide great protection, add a sense of importance to each piece and they are a perfect way to support the 3D items in a discreet unobtrusive way.

The felt queen is one of the most exciting and original artists working in the UK today. Her practice is quirky yet subversive, luring the audience in with her soft, tactile, colourful felt creations before hitting them hard with her comment on subjects from the demise of the traditional high street to censorship in pornography.

Lucy’s work has been shown in galleries from London to Los Angeles, at international art fairs including Art Basel, Scope Miami and the New York Affordable Art Fair.
